Description

These pot magnets have a drilled cylindrical hole and can be fastened with a regular screw. For applications requiring countersunk screws, we recommend our pot magnets type CSN-25 with drilled countersunk hole. They also have a diameter of 25 mm.

The following screws fit into the ZTN-25, for example:

  • Hexagon socket head cap screw: ISO 4762 M5 (5 mm)
  • Hexalobular head cap screw: ISO 14580 M5 (5 mm)
  • Cross recessed cheese-head screw (Form Z): ISO 7048 M5 (5 mm)

Please note: The full adhesive force is achieved when the ferromagnetic counterpart is smooth and of sufficient thickness and when the pot magnet makes direct and full flush contact. Pot magnets already lose much of their adhesive force at a distance of only half a millimetre to the ferromagnetic surface. This characteristic is more pronounced in pot magnets than in other ferrite and neodymium magnets. You can find additional fascinating information on our FAQ page about pot magnet features.

The graph shows the maximum adhesive force in kg (y axis) at various distances in mm (x axis) between pot magnet and counterpart (steel plate).
Example: At a 1 mm distance between pot magnet and steel plate the maximum adhesive force is still 4 kg.
The answer to why you can arrange pot magnets only side by side can be found under our FAQ.

The structure of pot magnets

Pot magnets have a neodymium or ferrite magnet built into a steel pot. When it comes into direct contact with a surface, its force will be focused on the holding surface as a result. This increases the adhesive force of the magnet. For more information, please refer to our FAQ page on the characteristics of pot magnets.
